Wine tasting
First rule: Relax! Wine can not be enjoyed in a hurry. Wine tasting is a game. A challenge. Relaxing. Game.
Take a wine glas. Pour in a quantity of two inches.
Let your organs of sense and your phantasy go. Have a look at the colour of the wine. What is it like? Dark? Light? Transparent? Crystal clear? Blurred? Foggy? Try to create a comparison with the colour. It is like...Cherry? Morello? Straw? Ivy? Sunrise?
Put the glas on the table and move the wine in it applying circular movements.
Now bend over your glas and take a deep sniff. What does it remind you? Some kind of a fruit? Which one? Pineapple? Apple? Raisins? Some kind of a flower? Which one? Rose? Jasmine? Acacia? Take a sip. Move the wine in your mouth.
Do not just search for the taste but also for the weight, structure and texture of the wine. Is it like silk? Is it like velvet? Is it rough? And what about the taste? What does it remind you? Dried plums? Nuts? Roasted coffee?
If you have all these, add them. Think of what the wine is made of, the production process, where, whom it comes from. Take another sip. Enjoy.
